I designed this treehouse on my own because I liked the idea of a little light-up house inside your home. I wanted something that felt warm and cozy. I love designing 3D objects using the laser cutter. I wanted to have an all-wood aesthetic to the design.
I designed this in Onshape. I really like to use the laser cut joint feature which makes it super simple to plan out and execute designs on the laser cutter. I wanted to play around with the architecture of the house and make the roof line exciting. My big requirement was to have many windows to allow light out. The most challenging aspect was making the tree base fit well around the house.

Because my CAD model was very robust the fabrication process on this was very simple. I used wood glue to put all of the pieces together. The windows are 1.5mm clear acrylic with orange acrylic paint on the inside of the glass. I then put a lightbulb inside of the house.
